Prescription Diet Shortages

Prescription Diet Update

Hill’s and Royal Canin are having issues with shortages of some of their veterinary prescription diets.  This may mean that certain prescription diets may be unavailable entirely or only available in certain size bags. This also pertains to canned food.  Please know that we are doing all that we can to keep up our stock at Highland Animal Hospital, but we are facing issues as well.  We are recommending that you call us 2 weeks before running out of your pet’s prescription diet.  This not only gives us time to try and get the food that you need, but also leaves enough food supply in your home in case a transition is needed to a similar diet from a different manufacturer.  There may be temporary limits on the amount of canned food that can be purchased so there is enough available for all of our patients.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.  Please contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.
